Brief Introduction of RTV2 Silicone Rubber for Resin Craft Molds
RTV-2 silicone rubber is a two component material, and it consist of Part A base silicone and Part B curing agent. When the two parts mix together and pour or brush on a object, the silicone base and curing agent can cure to be a silicone mold at room temperature; And 24 hours later, the silicone mold can be released from the object, and then the silicone mold can be poured into the following material to copy: Plaster, polyurethane, PU, GRC, cement, resin, polyester, wax etc...
Advantage of silicone rubber for resin craft
silicone rubber for resin craft has advantage of excelenlt fluidity and good operational performance, an elastic silicone rubber mold will be obtained with resistance to deformation, high-temperature, acid and alkali and expansion, comfortable duplication times and free sample avalibale.
Application of RTV2 Silicone Rubber for Resin Craft :
Silicon Rubber for Casting Mold (RTV-2) is primarily intended for poly resin crafts, PU crafts, PU resin crafts, gypsum crafts, unsaturated resin crafts, lighting and candles crafts, plastic toy, stationery gifts crafts industry, a large statue Buddha, relievo furniture, furniture decorative materials, statues Buddha, artifacts copied, building decoration materials, large-scale cement mold, artificial fossils Factory, Europe component factory, simulation landscapes, animals and plants sculpture, sandstone crafts and so on.
How to make the silicone mold?
The surface of the original should be clean and free of loose material. If your products with thin flower patterns, and especially with porous substrates, please use a suitable mold release agent such as soap water, detergent, Vaseline or petroleum jelly.
1.Mixing
Please weight 100 Part A base and 2 parts of Curing Agent in a clean container. Thoroughly stir Part A base silicone before use, as filler separation may occur upon
prolonged storage. Mixing Part A and Part B evenly until the CA30 completely dispersed in the base. Hand or mechanical mixing can be used, but do not for an extended period of time or allow the temperature to exceed 35C (95F). Mix suitably small quantities to ensure thorough mixing of base and curing agent.
It is strongly recommended that entrapped air be removed in a vacuum chamber, allowing the mix to completely expand and then collapse. After a further 1-2 mins under vacuum, the mix should be inspected and can be used if free of air bubbles. A volume increase of 3-5 times will occur on vacuum de-airing the mixture. So a suitably large container should be chosen.
2.Pouring the mixture and curing
Pour the mixed Part A base silicone and part B the curing agent as soon as possible onto the original, avoiding air entrapment. The catalyzed material will cure to a flexible rubber within 6 hours (or faster by different mixing ratio or room temperature), we advice you de-mold after 24 hours, it is will improve the replicate times of silicone mold.
STORAGE
When stored at or below 30 C (85F) in the original unopened containers, silicone base and CA30 Curing agent have a usable life of 12 months from the date of production. After 12 months stock, please use the Stir to mixing the Part A silicone for some mins, then the silicone can be use again, no influence for other performances.
