Product Description

MC Silicone platinum silicone rubber, also known as addition-cure silicone mold rubber, platinums exhibit the lowest long-term shrinkage (0.01% )and have long library life . The silicone are delivered as two-component liquids, which once mixed and cured transform into a translucent, elastic and resistant material. The polymerization can be accelerated by heat.

Features:
Non-toxic food grade
Fast mixing (1:1) with 7000 Cps
High tear and tensile strength
Long shelf life with low shrinkage
Room temperature vulcanized,
Could be accelerated by heat
Easy de-air, no need for vacuum pumping

Application:
1.A range of materials can be cast into the cured silicone mold:
polyurethane and other reactive resins
Small pieces of cement,plaster,gypsum,concrete products.
Food like chocolate,fondants,desserts
Wax,candle,soap;

2.casting body parts, artificial skin, silicone dolls ,shoe insole.

Installation Instructions

INSTRUCTIONS for addition cure silicone rubber

1. Mixing the two components
According the mixing ratio 1: 1 weighting part A and B, the two components may be thoroughly mixed either by hand or using a low speed electric to minimize the entrance of air and to avoid any temperature increase.
Note: It is also possible to use a special mixing and dispensing machine for the two silicone components, further information is available upon request.

2. Molding
The mixture should be degassed preferably at 30 to 50 mbar to eliminate any entrapped air. If a dispensing machine is used, the two components are degassed separately prior to mixing. The silicone mixture expands to 3 to 4 times of its initial volume and bubbles rise to the surface. The bubbles progressively disappear and the mixture returns to its initial volume after 5 to 10 minutes. Wait a few minutes to complete the degassing and then flash the vacuum. The silicone is ready for pouring, either by gravity or under low pressure.
Note: Flashing the vacuum once or twice accelerates the degassing. It is recommended to use a container with a high diameter/height ratio(3 to 4 times of the initial volume)

3. Polymerization
The curing may be slowed down at lower temperature or accelerated by applying heat.
Note: In general contact with certain materials can inhibit the cross linking of RTV.
Natural rubbers vulcanized with sulfur
RTV elastomeric is catalyzed with metal salts, e. G. Tin compounds
PVC stabilized with tin salts and additives
Epoxy catalyzed with amines
Certain organic solvents, such as Ketones, alcohols, ether etc.

In case of doubt, it is recommended to test the substrate by applying a small quantity of the mixed silicone on a restricted area.

FAQ

Q1:Why the platinum silicone rubber do not cure?
Platinum-cure silicone rubbers are critically sensitive to some materials and will not cure under any circumstances when exposed. like the materials below:

Natural rubbers vulcanized with sulfur
RTV elastomeric is catalyzed with metal salts, e. G. Tin compounds
Epoxy catalyzed with amines
Certain organic solvents, such as Ketones, alcohols, ether etc.

Q2:why the bottom and sides of platinum silicone molds are still gummy?

platinum silicone rubber requires accurate and careful mixing. The material must be mixed thoroughly for at least 3~5 minutes. make sure to scrape the container sides, bottom, and corners as you mix.

Q3:Why the curing time of platinum silicone varies in environment with different temperature ?

Platinum (addition) cured silicone rubber,Which with platinum catalyst and uses heat to transform from liquid to solid rubber. Therefore, platinum cured silicone rubber is sensitive to temperature, platinum systems are often cured quickly with heat, although they can also be formulated to cure at low temperatures and room temperature.

Q4:Is platinum silicone food safe?
yes! It's safe to contact Food and skin. it's suitable for making molds for food, and making Prosthetics .
